Why a Mustang?

For those that don't know me. I'm a normal person that just recently got started on the idea of buying a new car. I looked around and thought about my options. Asked myself what do I want in a car? I decided, I wanted something that was a little racy and not the normal ho hum, everyday driver that most folks get.. I wanted something that had some oomph to it!

First thing that came to my head was a rice burner. You know those little racy Japanese models that the kids drive.. I started looking around online and came up with a few... There are quite a few models to choose from. I even went out and drove some. . I then noticed something else that's happening in the car world today.

If you haven't noticed we're in the middle of a muscle car war, between the big three! For those that have been hiding under a rock all there life's.. That's GM, Chrysler, and Ford.

Right now we have three of the best, most iconic muscle car's out there today. They have been retro-ed and brought back from the dead.. Well one of them really never left but they did kind of slide from our social consciousness and fade into the background for awhile..

First there is the Challenger then the Camaro and last but not least the car that I chose. The Ford Mustang!

What made me decide to start looking at the American Models and not the little Japanees rice burners that are out there today? Well First of all I started thinking, I should be buying American!

In today's day and age with whats going on with our economy, it's only right! Then I noticed something else. A personal emotional reaction to the heritage of these cars.. The childhood imprint runs deep. I can remember riding in each of these cars as a kid.. Who hasn't had a friend, or a family member as they grew up that didn't have one, if not all of these cars along the way.

For myself, I've rode in every one of these cars at one time or another over the years as I grew up.. For me there is a lot of fond memories of cruise night. In my little home town in central California riding in a muscle car.. All these things are gone now and in the past but the memories and the imprints are still there alive and kicking..

In the end I chose the Mustang. Why did I go this rout? Well out of all the muscle cars out there today. The Mustang stands alone in respect to it's heritage. All the others have left the playing field, at one time or another..

The Mustang though, has withstood the test of time and never left the playing field. For myself I think that says a lot.. Yes there have been some years and some models that in my opinion weren't as iconic as others, but the main thing is.. The Mustang has never left the playing field..

This stands true even today with whats happening in the Car Market and our economy.. Ford has stood out as being an American Icon. When all the other car makers went to capital hill for a hand out.. Ford stood tall and overcame the obstacles in true American fashion. Pulling themselves up by there bootstraps, as it should be.. For myself I decided to Buy American and Buy a Mustang!

This and of course the fact that they have done a hell of a job, with there new refresh and now with what there doing with a whole new power plant for the 2011. I chose to go with the Mustang as my muscle car of choice..
